Atlas Voluntary Benefits has partnered with the top companies to provide competitive pricing for all of LA County employees.

Disability Plan

Our disability benefit will pay a portion of an employee’s compensation while they are out of work due to a covered injury, illness or pregnancy, on or off the job.

Why a disability plan? LA County employees do not pay into State Disability Insurance, leaving you uninsured in the event of any off the job incident

Critical Illness

The plan pays a lump sum benefit directly to a policyholder who is diagnosed with one of the several specified critical illnesses such as a stroke, cancer or heart attack.

Why a critical illness plan? A critical diagnosis can be terrifying, not just for medical reasons but can also cause major financial stress. This plan will help you shift your focus on your health rather than your finances.

Life Insurance

Will provide financial assistance to the people who most depend on your income. Proceeds can be used to pay final expenses, replace income for dependents, create an inheritance for your heirs and protect your mortgage.

It’s very important that you have life insurance that is not contingent on your employment—LA County employees have a policy that is not portable at retirement. And if you wait until retirement to obtain another life insurance policy, it will be expensive and some people might even be uninsurable because it’s based on age and health.

Accident Plan

Our accident insurance plan will pay a lump sum benefit to you when you or covered family members experience a covered injury.

Why an accident plan? When you suffer an injury, your medical insurer will never send you a check. But that’s exactly what our accident coverage will do.

Hospital Plan

Pays you a direct benefit when you are hospitalized, in need of surgery, maternity, ER or physician visits and will also cover COVID-19.

Why a hospital plan? This plan will help cover the basics like deductible and copays, and will also assist in the cost of missing work and daily living expenses.

Long-Term Care

Long-term Care Pays for the cost of care at a nursing facility, residential care facility or home  care due to a chronic illness, disability, injury, or as a result of the general effects of aging. Activities of Daily Living, or ADLs, are self-care activities everyone must perform to lead a normal, independent life. They include bathing, dressing, transferring, eating, toileting and continence—if you cannot perform two of them, you qualify for long-term care.

Why long-term care insurance? Long-term care is very expensive and is not covered by medical insurance or Medicare. With the average monthly cost in California at $8,365, a lot of people deplete their life savings or lose their homes paying for long-term care.
